Jeff McKenzie, Managing Director

Following a lengthy career in New Zealand with ANZ Banking Group Jeff has subsequently held senior positions in China and Indonesia with ANZ, roles having pan-Asian responsibility. Jeff has also been CEO of a large Chinese company, at that time the largest private importer of iron ore into China, and operator of a 3 million tonne steel mill.

  • Initiated a USD2.5bio takeover by Pioneer Iron & Steel Group for China Oriental Group (HK Listed 4m tonne steel producer)
  • Provided detailed advice on the restructuring of an Chinese offshore corporates USD7mio investment in a galvanizing plant in the city of Tianjin China
  • Significant and complex trade finance transactions involving New Zealand, Australia, Chinese and Asian institutional and corporate clients exporting/importing within China and the Asia Pacific region

Ross is an agribusiness entrepreneur and has significant experience running his own agricultural manufacturing business, SealesWinslow, (until sold in 2011) along with considerable entrepreneurial success in the primary sector. Ross’s agricultural background has encompassed on-farm consultancy, dairy conversions, forestry-establishment and, until recently, has operated his own farming operations for 30 years. 

He is also an early stage investor in biotech and mobile wallet technology. In addition Ross has acted as Lincoln University’s Principal Advisor for the past 3 years, is a Company Director of Lincoln Agritech Ltd, trustee or board member with two large sheep and beef farming operations, partner and director of HVP, (an international agribusiness development group) and is also Chairman of the University of Auckland’s Agritech and AgBio investment and commercialization committee.

Michelle is currently the South Island executive committee member for the New Zealand China Trade Association. She is also Vice Chair for the Christchurch-China Sister City and New Zealand – China Friendship Society committees. She also sits on the board of governance for one of the Christchurch Womens’ Refuge centres.
